Statement of Intent
Health & Safety issues are paramount in the objectives of PinPoint Marketing Ltd in all areas of its operations. The company is committed to ensuring the health and safety of clients, members of the public and everyone who works for us. It is incumbent on all workers to co-operate and contribute to ensure that health and safety is properly managed and to ensure that every effort is made in this area. The Company actively manages its operations in a manner so as to avoid any unacceptable and unnecessary risks to the health and safety of its workers, clients and members of the public. To this end, the Company aims to reduce all accidents and incidents to an absolute minimum.
If our contractors employ sub-contractors to carry out some or all of the work, all parties will have some health and safety responsibilities. The extent of the responsibilities of each party will depend on the circumstances. Each team leader is responsible for their own health and safety and of that of all distributors within their team. PinPoint Marketing Ltd. recognises the legal duties the company is bound by and will provide a safe working environment, safe work equipment and safe methods of work. The company will:
1. Teach safe lifting techniques
2. Teach distributors how to post items without inserting or trapping fingers in letterboxes
3. Provide each worker with written Health & Safety instructions
4. Inform distributors how to avoid conflict with householders
5. Require that distributors can read a map in order to avoid getting lost
6. Remind distributors about road safety
7. Warn distributors not to enter residents’ houses even if invited to do so
8. Warn distributors not to enter derelict properties
9. Instruct distributors to wear comfortable walking shoes
10. Instruct distributors to work in pairs or in close proximity to other distributors whenever possible e.g. a distributor and his/her partner can work on either side of the same street so as to look out for the safety of each other
11. Ask team leaders to keep a daily register of workers and to communicate with them at the end of the day to confirm their safety
12. Instruct distributors to contact their team leader in the event they encounter any danger or injury on the job
13. Instruct team leaders to report any incident of note to the company
14. Encourage distributors to carry drinking water or money to buy drinks with them whilst on the job so they do not become dehydrated
15. Encourage distributors to dress appropriately e.g. baseball cap/sun hat and sun block in summer, coats in winter
16. Encourage distributors to relieve themselves before starting work and inform them of any public toilets we are aware of in their designated area
17. Obtain and make available to workers copies of HSE’s free leaflet “Five Steps to Risk Assessment” which provides guidance to employers and the self-employed on assessing risks in the workplace and HSE’s free leaflet “Health and Safety Training”
18. Instruct distributors (especially any who might not be in peak physical condition or used to long walking) to pace themselves
19. Warn distributors to avoid certain areas or properties which are known to have a history of violence
20. Require that team leaders pass a written test in order to work with us
Organisation
Managing director, Faheemah Luqman will train team leaders and inform them of their responsibilities. The day-to-day responsibility then rests with each team leader who shall impart all necessary training to their team. Faheemah will be responsible for:
• undertaking risk assessments
• making inspections
• ensuring team leaders understand their responsibilities in terms of enforcing safety measures in the field during distribution.

Arrangements
PinPoint Marketing Ltd will meet its Health & Safety commitments by giving verbal, written and on-site training to team leaders who will then pass information on distributors. Team leaders are required to sit and pass a written test.
Any equipment used (trolleys etc.) will be periodically checked. Clients are cautioned that all stock must be flat packed and securely bound and that each stock container is to weigh no more than 10 kilos failing which, the company may reject the job, require that clients repack the stock or require that clients pay a surcharge.
